SYMBIOTIK
About the project
For the short film “Symbiotik”, I developed an intricate and immersive sound design that reflects the film’s thematic exploration of connection, interdependence, and the merging of organic and synthetic worlds. The audio landscape blends natural environmental sounds — rustling leaves, water, wind — with mechanical and electronic textures, creating a sonic interplay that mirrors the film’s narrative tension and visual motifs. Transitions between sequences are enhanced with layered foley, subtle percussive hits, and abstract tonal elements, emphasizing rhythm, movement, and emotional shifts. Spatial audio techniques are used to give depth and placement, letting the viewer feel close to the characters and yet aware of the expansive, sometimes surreal world around them.

Dynamic sound motifs recur across scenes, linking visual and thematic elements, while carefully mixed ambient layers maintain continuity without overwhelming clarity. Sudden rises in intensity, combined with electronic pulses and resonant textures, accentuate moments of suspense or revelation, reinforcing the film’s dramatic arc.
